A Note about IFL IR - from the Commish

from the desk of
COOKIE WANG

If you haven't noticed, the official NFL injury reports look slightly different this year, and that will affect how we determine which players are eligible for IR in the IFL. Previously, players were categorized as Probable, Questionable, Doubtful, and Out, and a player had to be listed as Doubtful or Out to be placed on the IFL IR.

Now, those designations have been changed for the Wednesday and Thursday injury reports, and the new designations are Out, Did Not Practice, Limited Practice or Full Practice. Therefore, we have changed the requirements for IFL IR accordingly.

****A player must be listed as either Out or Did Not Practice on either day's report to be placed on IFL IR. Please DO NOT try to place anyone on IR who is not eligible. Failure to adhere will result in the loss of future free agent pickups and loss of the player who was picked up.

You can find official NFL injury reports on NFL.com or any NFL team websites as early in the week as Wednesday, and they should be in Thursday's newspapers. If you have any questions as to a player's status and you cannot find it, please email me and I will do my best to find out for you.

Please keep in mind, I do not have the ability to view your transaction requests prior to them being processed, so you will need to police yourself in this matter. Sportsline processed the moves at approximately 1:00am Friday morning, and I will not go back into the site and change the moves unless it was determined that there was some error on my part.

I know this has become somewhat ambiguous, but unfortunately, this is the route the NFL has chosen to go, therefore we must adapt. In the offseason, we will be looking at our IR and its place in the IFL, and we will try to make this process more easily manageable.
